Cagliari, 20 February 2025 – The European Digital Innovation Hub MicroCyber (EDIH) will be making a stop in Sardinia for its second regional event. The meeting is scheduled for Friday, 28 February, at the Hotel Caesar’s in Cagliari, where the opportunities offered by the project—promoted and coordinated by the Italian National Agency for Microcredit as lead partner—will be presented.
MicroCyber was established with the aim of strengthening cybersecurity awareness and promoting the secure digital transformation of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), professionals, and local public administrations. Through a network of specialized partners, the project provides support in developing cybersecurity awareness and competencies, helping stakeholders comply with directives and best practices in the field of digital security.
During the event, participants will have the opportunity to explore the services offered by the MicroCyber EDIH and the procedures for participation.
Giovanni Nicola Pes, Deputy Secretary General of the Italian National Agency for Microcredit and Director of the MicroCyber EDIH, stated:
“MicroCyber aims to serve as a reference point for all companies wishing to embark on a path of secure digital transformation, providing tools, skills, and resources to prevent cyber risks and protect strategic data and processes. Our goal is to bridge the technological divide that often disadvantages micro and small enterprises by offering them qualified, largely free support for the adoption of effective cybersecurity solutions. Through public-private collaboration, we make available an ecosystem of cutting-edge expertise to help enterprises navigate the new digital landscape with greater awareness and security. Moreover, cybersecurity is now a key element of cohesion policies, which are essential to ensuring equitable and sustainable development in less digitalized regions. Without adequate cybersecurity measures, the technological divide risks widening further, hindering the growth and competitiveness of these territories.”
“With the Cagliari event,” stated Francesco Napoli, National Vice President of Confapi and coordinator for the southern regions of the MicroCyber project, “we continue our commitment to supporting enterprises in their journey toward technological and digital innovation. MicroCyber represents a significant opportunity for all involved partners in the challenge of innovation, ensuring competence, security, and competitiveness within the production system. It is a unique opportunity for southern territories, where enterprises, public administrations, and professionals can interact with leading experts in the field. This strategic path, through the development of new skills in the area of cybersecurity, is fundamental for the growth and competitiveness of industrial SMEs represented by Confapi and of the regions in which they operate.”
The MicroCyber project is implemented through an outstanding partnership, comprising Confapi, CINI (National Inter-University Consortium for Informatics), CIRPS (Inter-University Research Centre for Sustainable Development), Deloitte, the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli, and Digiform.
